| IS THIS YOUR BULL?
Welcome to Texas, y'all. I sat here dying laughing as I watched the top story on the news tonight. Today in a nice northwest Austin subdivision (not far from where we live) somehow a bull was on the loose! Yep, that's right an 800 pound bull who became known as "cylcone," by those trying to capture him. It took police/animal control/residents/and whoever else got in on the action 3 hours of chasing it from yard to yard through the nice neighborhood to catch it (finally resorting to bringing in dogs, horses and tranquilizers). I tried to download the video, but couldn't get it to copy from the new website but it contains footage of the bull wandering slowly, galloping down the street and finally charging at the police & camera crews. BUT, the best part was the closing line when the anchorLADY said, "Police believe this bull does in fact belong to someone, so that just leaves us asking, Is this your bull? If so, you have 14 to claim it before it will be sent to auction." Wow, that's all I have to say.

| Christmas in Review
I did a horrible job of blogging during Christmas, I know. But I figured even if it's almost the middle of January I'd at least post some pics from the holiday season...
Daniel & I sang "Baby It's Cold Outside" at a church Christmas party and since we were dressed so festive & coordinating we took some pics together.
Our little elf!
The week before Christmas we went to The Trail of Lights. We didn't really know what it was, but I'd heard some people say it was a park in downtown Austin decorated with lights - well, that was an understatement to say the least. It was a mile long trail through this park that you had to be shuttled over to. Pretty cool. Of course as soon as we got there I had to go to the bathroom, well, it's at a park so that means there are port-a-potties that LOTS of people are using! yuk - Pregnant women+outdoor bathrooms= BAD. Well, Daniel was amused by it all, so while he stood waiting he decided he'd snap a pic right as I walked out, of course everyone waiting in line laughed and I have to say the picture says it all... (I had the scarf wrapped around my face as a breathing mask)
So to make up for that he bought me my all time favorite fair food - a TURKEY LEG! :)
And some views of the lights and the skyline...And now THAT'S a capital building...Deep in the heart of Texas :) Christmas Eve us girls had brunch at Rachie's where we ate, listened to Christmas music, chatted and exchanged gifts. We've always gotten together around Christmas, but maybe Christmas Eve brunch will be the new tradition...

Christmas Day was so busy, and I hate to admit it but I actually took NO pictures! And when I say busy, I mean we did 6 houses on Christmas day! Ayyy. BUT, good news, we got a video camera, so there will lots of videos to come (more on that later). We did have a good Christmas and got to spend time with all the fam and like always feel very blessed that we HAVE 6 houses full of family to visit on Christmas.
We came back to austin the day after Christmas, but then BACK to Dallas for the next weekend for Casey & Lauren's wedding that Daniel was a groomsman in. (Good thing we're only 3 hours away now!) Casey is a friend of Daniel's - they went to youth group together in high school and casey was in our wedding as well. Casey's wife, lauren went to a&m with Daniel's sisters. (Casey went to UT though!!! - just had to add that in there)
So that's our Christmas season in review! Happy LATE New Years! No resolutions this year - I don't have the energy!
There may be a new blog in the works, I'm getting a little sick of myspace and have been over xanga for a long time, but still use it as my format, so I'm looking for a new place to start up the blog and post videos and lots of baby updates!!! Will let you all know soon. We have a 28 week ultrasound monday, so there will be updates/pics of that! :) My belly is getting huge, I'm getting uncomfortable, extremely overwhelmed and more excited all at the same time. Baby showers are coming up (YEAH!) and the baby nursery will be underway soon...fun fun fun. | | |
| What's Kickin'
Now at 23 weeks I've been starting to feel the baby move a lot more. It still hasn't felt like a real kick as much as a flutter, hiccup or twitch in my stomach. And poor Daniel, every time I feel it (usually while I'm laying or sitting still), I'm like "Here, feel now!" and he never feels it. Well...this afternoon I was laying on the couch and had been feeling him kick for a while off and on I looked down and literally saw a kick on the left side of my stomach, so I told Daniel to come look really quick and he kicked again and we both saw it on my stomach. It was pretty cool...the whole thing is so amazing. Just thought I'd share. We go for another ultrasound on Thursday, so more updates soon.
